Well I just took my head off last week....i dont have the adjustable cam gears, but i think its fairly easy to adjust. You just losen the bolts and spin the gear to desired timing.

Installing the gear may be another story. You will have to remove the cams. Not a lot of fun, but not that big a deal. I wish that was all i had to do. GOOD LUCK

hmmm -- to change cam gears, you do not need to remove the cams -- the gears bolt to the front of the cams. also, regarding the adjustable cam gears, you can only retard the timing by moving the gear - if you want to advance it, you'll need to move the cam itself, which is doable but harder than just moving the gear.

generally, adjustable cam gears are used to "dial-in" an aftermarket cam to have the supplier-recommended timing events happen when they're supposed-to....
