If it's single chain (I think all M3's are anyway) then the parts in the UK for chain,guides, slippers, all 4 sprockets, gaskets, tensioner etc. came to about £850. Labour was £550 (cash)

I want to renew the timing chain om my 190.000km 1986 M3. Are there pitfalls?
In Holland at a BMW-dealer I'll have to pay appr. 1100 dollar for the timing chain set. Perhaps import via US-bases dealers/shops is cheeper?
