Looking at M3, just a few questions.... (archive)

I have been considering buying an e28 M5 or e30 M3 for a few years now, and my search has brought me some nice cars, and I think that I have found one I really like.

The car I'm looking at is a 1988 diamantschwarz metallik/black M3. The VIN: WBSAK0307J2195829. If somebody here has a carfax report, I would greatly appreciate it. It has 110,000 mi, and they want $8250.

The exterior is excellent, it has the evo III aero dynamics on it. No blemishes, dents, dings, scratches that are of any real maginitude.

The interior is where I'm a little miffed. The drivers side seat has a bursted seam on the left bolster. The back seat has a bursted seam too. How repairable is this, in
terms of cost and whether I could do it? I do not mind fixing up cars, I really enjoy taking apart engines and rebuilding them.

I have a test drive on 11/12/01? Any thing I should look for?
