I took the directors comments as this, IF IT WAS PURPASE BUILT THEN BMW WOULD HAVE REACED IT WHEN IT WAS MADE. Instead BMW offers "assistance" to both AC and PTG.. And they did not start until 98 or so.. He said that the earlier cars were PURPASE BUILT RACE CARS FOR THE STREET, he said this is a more accessable M car for the public.. That tells me it is no PURPASE BUILT and in my book not a real M CAR!
