As you know there are two pumps in the fuel system of our cars. E30 M3
You do not say whether you are turning right or left but I suspect the following.
1. yes you were turning right when this happened.
2. you were below 1/2 tank as you mentioned I believe.
3. The in tank pump is on the right side of the tank soall the fuel when the level is too low wil wash away from the pickup in the tank.
4. this is really not good as you could potentially create a lean condition due to fuel starvation at that moment.
5. I f it is a fast long right hander then you could do some damage by running lean and pulling some good revs at the same time!
6. I have run below a 1/2 but no less than 1/3 at Limerock numerous times and have yet to experience the problems you describe. BTW Limerock is all rights and 1 left at very good speeds of 65-75 through most corners and around 90 through another.
7. I suppose that under the bridge and thru turn 12 at road atlanta section would cause a lean condition. You get my drift.
Bottom line, check that in tank pump and keep her above 1/2 to be safe.
