Hello gang. I had planned today as valve adjustment day; because I finally got all the tools. I checked all the clearances on a cold engine. All of the top valves checked in at .011 and .012in(.28-.30mm). The bottom valves at same clearance except for one .013(.33mm) and two .012in(.30mm). Don't the numbers seem ok? Lately I've been hearing too much valve clatter, seems like the gap should be more. It's not timing chain noise, its definately valves. Should I do this on a warm engine? Maybe I will see more gap. I only ask because several posts say it is ok to do so. Also, whats the easiest way to lift out the shims without using air blasts? Help me out here guys! Thanks everyone. Cos
