It is rare...and you obviously tried to find it if it didn't fall in your lap.

Thanks...I'll be here all week...I WIN!!

Really?

Me too....

Maybe I'll win?

But who cares???

Rarity is an illusion....(and most people delude themselves into thinking what they have is 'rare') just about anything that was man made can be found an bought for a price. It's just a matter of how much $$ you want to spend.....spending alot of $$ doesn't necessarily mean it's "rare".

Just like buyers are made to believe diamonds are "rare" so to are production BMW's....even M's(which are really production based cars). In the last year I've seen

(2) 507's for sale in the US
(7) M1's
countless M635csi/M6/M5's/M535i's
Litterly a ton of E36 M3's
And at least 100 E30 M3's.

And I haven't even been trying to find anything!

WH

A short list of my current autos....
(2) alpina B7's turbos (2 of 209 built)
(1) 81' M535i (1 of 1410 built)
(1) 1968 Lotus super seven series III (1 of 350 built)
(1) 1984 audi ur-quattro (1 of 65 sold in the US in 1984, also one of 350 total sold between 1982-1985)
(1) MGC GT (1 of 4,400 sold world wide between 68-69)
(1) 1956 Austin Healey BN2 (1 of 4056 sold worldwide between 55-56)

Are these cars rare??? Maybe, but I think not....
