Diffs from E30 or E36 4 cylinders have smaller ring and pinions and limited slip clutches than the E30 M3 unit and they probably won't stand up to track use in an M3. The case dimensions are different too, so the internals will not interchange.

Ilooking for a differential with 4.45 ring and pinion for a 1988 e30 me for under $1600

I've got a 4.45lsd for an e36.I don't think it will just bolt up.Either the mounts would have to be changed to accept it,or you maybe able to trans plant the ring and pinion to the e30 case?
