Considering buying either one, need some inputs..... Thx.

I own a 89 Cecotto and have driven an evo 2 190. The 190 is a very quick car, but is bigger and not as nimble you can definatly feel it's size and weight it's a lot bigger and heavier than the M3, and the steering is not as good. If you only intend using the car on the road it comes down to what you want as there really isn't much between the cars, the merc is more practicle if you have passengers in the car a lot and the boot is massive as well. I don't know what the 2.3 is like but I doubt it's that much different to the evo 2, it's not going to be as quick, the 2.3 190's are slower than the M3, but I expect the handeling is similar. The styling between the 2.3 190 and the M3 is very different, again it comes down to personal taste. If you want a car to take on the track buy an M3 or evo 2 190, if you want a quick car which is pratical buy the 2.3 190.
