..is the addition of the catalyst. I know cos I checked this when I got my late model (215 bhp) car....The cylinder heads have a number stamped on them ( can't remember what it is and it's too dark and cold outside for me to go and check now). I cross checked them against my friend's car which was an EVO II.
BTW my car has had the catalyst removed....perfectly legal here in the UK :o)

I´m currently stationed in Kosovo, and i just found a real battered M3 downhere, i bought the interior from the car(cheap!!)and i´m now thinking about buying the engine, my own car back home is a 195 Hp 1987, but this is 1989 so the engine might be a 215 HP, and i could use that for a project. My question is what ís the difference between the 215 Hp "standard" engine and the non-cat 220 Hp evo II. Any detailed info is appreciated.
The difference between the 195 and 215/220 hp versions:
48 mm throttle bodies
264 degrees inlet cam
inlet channels enlarged to 28 mm
other DME
