First off, I think most dynoing is a waste. Get a G-Tech and do some real world testing. Back to the subject - drivetrains (like the tranny gear being used, not gears just spinning) do present a loss as a percentange of torque that is put into it. I'll try and do a little reading on it tonight to try and give a correct explanation of this. But you should take this as a fact.
