I saw one for sale that has M badging on front and rear but the engine does not say m power on it and it looks like the normal BMW 6 cylinde and it is an automatic. It also doesnt have teh e30 bulging fenders. The seller claims it is a 1984 M323i imported from Germany. I will try to get the vin number from him to check that but I did do a search and found someone selling an information brochure for 1984 m323's and m320's. Has anyoen heard of this model before a if so, how much should they be?
There were no M Technic E30 sedans with automatic
transmissions. The front and rear spoilers on this
car are not real M Technic pieces, nor are the
side skirts. My neighbor has a real M Technic
equipped 86 325i Sport that he brought back from
Germany and i've thoroughly examined his factory
spoilers and sideskirts. The front spoiler on
this EBay car does appear to be a real BMW
accessory spoiler (which was available from the
parts department and appears on the ETK), but the
real M Technic front spoiler is a larger one-piece
unit with a distinct M Technic badge located just
inboard of the right side foglight. The sideskirts
look to be like aftermarket because i don't see
the M Technic badge that's supposed to be located
at the edge on the rocker below the front fender.
And that rear wing is definitely NOT an M Technic
BMW piece, it's a common aftermarket wing made by
lots of different companies. So there is nothing
i see on that car that's M Technic or "M" as he
claims it to be.
It's just a ghetto modded 323i with M colored
stripes and M badges added to impress non-BMW
idiots in the hood.
