It's driving me nuts. The car has this humming sound that seems to be coming from the front. I almost think it may be the Wheel bearings. Or, could it be the strut bearings? I would imagine those would only make noise when you turn though.Have Any of you delt with this? and what did you do? Thanks in advance. Oh Yeah, and the car still smells like sulfer when I hit it hard...


I experienced this on my '95 Nissan Maxima, not my M3. It was a loud constant growl that showed up around 25 mph and above. The growl changed in pitch and volume when I turned the wheel.

It turned out that my right rear wheel bearing needed replacement. I know this wasn't on an M3 but that could be the cause of your noise.
