If i blow my S14 engine, I am not going to rebuild the S14.

I will put one of the following in:
- E36 M3 engine and turbo charge it (active autowerks).
- E46 M3 engine
- 7mgte - Toyota supra engine. An easy 350 rwhp with just bolt ons.

Hey, everything is about money. I don't care what the purist think. If I can get balance and power, I don't care if an s14 is under the hood. It's not that great of an engine if you consider the maintenance involved ($$).

Turboing a 1.8 engine will cost from 5 to 7 grands. benefit will be a 220-250 HP engine. Downside will be lag and all troubles associated to a non-stock engine.

How much do you save? And what do you gain.

An S52 will cost you 4 grands with the tranny. You will gain power and MIGHT loose balance. But it still has to be proven.

Please do not flame me. But that is what I should have done instead of rebuilding and installing an S14 in my M3...
