All you need is an "11/16" deep socket 3/8 drive with extension. Stick a piece of foam type rubber in the socket to hold the plug.$4 at Strauss Auto or Pep Boys.

While you at it pick up an O2 sensor socket$8 instead of $60 from super BMW parts guys.(Powerbuilt 7/8&22mm oxygen sensor socket)Strauss.
