It's an M3-specific part, that's why.

Replace it with a regular E28 535i master cylinder. You will have to replace one steel brake line from the ABS pump to the master cylinder, but that is easy. Brake line part is 34 32 1 153 688 for a 590mm line, 34 32 1 153 689 for a 620mm line.

Or if you want a firmer pedal (may not suit your taste, requires more force for braking) you can follow the instructions at:

The stock MC in an M3 is 23,81mm. This one is 25,??mm. The M3 uses a 12mm flare nut for one pipe and a 10mm flare nut for the other. If you switch to the 25mm or an E28 master cylinder, they use 10mm flare nut fittings on both lines. That's why you'll need to replace one of the lines if you opt for a cheaper master cylinder.

The 25mm master cylinder costs around $160-200 here in the US. An E28 535i MC (same dimensions as M3 MC) costs about $120-140.
