How do you know if you have a water pump issue? I took my car out for a blast, and upon return had waterish seepage from near the front of the engine (looked clear, slightly slippery)

Yes, water pump goes bad as it age. usally
around 60K to 80 K give or take 10K. some sign
of water pump failure or if is about to fail
squicking noise iminating from puley usually cause by over tightening V-belt.coolant leak comming from a small orifice on the water pump. sign of a bearing seal failure. miss alignment
of pulley could also lead to premature waterpump
