Hi Darren!
The tire IS a little streched and YES the rim is exposed but it works great! Both on the street and on the Hockenheim Ring.

Of course we all know how to avoid those curbs!!

Tires vary quite a bit from one brand to another.
I have Dunlop D40 in the back and Fulda Extremo in front.
In my opinion the fronts look much worse than the rear. I will correct that in spring.

IŽll try to post some pics but not now because we have a lot of snow.

Mike, have u got any close ups of your 9inch wide rear rims wearing 225*45 tyres?
Just wondering because I know a lot of tyre manufacturers dont recommend using their 225`s on a 9inch wide rim, but some do. Do they look really stretched? are the rims exposed a lot(likely to be kerbed easily?.

I have a set of RS`s in 16*8 front(ET20)and 16*9 rear (ET24)and the rears are currently wearing 245*45 rubber (over sized and wrong profile i know). WOuld like to try 225`s if they fit but some people have recommended against this in the past.

Hi Adrian!

I have the BBS RS Wheels 16x9 in the rear and 16x7 in front and only use a 5 mm spacer up front.
The rears are marginal as is. With 2 big guy in the rear seats it will just scrape the sidewalls.
Tires are 225-45-16 all arround

I have read a little about rear wheel spacers, 15mm seems to be mentioned quite a lot.

Has anyone used them with 16 inch factory bbs alloys ?
What was the results in terms of road holding and wheel clearance ?
