Gulp down the KOOLAID and save a BUNDLE with a M50 conversion. Good motors can be found starting at $1000, tranny another $500+. loose the A/C and stiffen the front. You have a E36 killer on the track or street if it is done well. Add cams and make your E36 friends rue the day they bought theirs. Parts R cheap and readily available. Or just pony up the dollars for an S52 and deal with the pricey M parts... I have now driven both types of conversion and for the money I doubt you can beat the M50tu program for cost effectiveness. Obviously there are those here and elsewhere cringing at this suggestion, but once you blow by them their tune usually changes. Either S52 or M50tu will provide you with the grunt to silence the nay sayers. The M5otu just alittle cheaper!
