the oem ones are not designed for the shorter action. A set of Bilsteins runs $380

I wanna low my 1988/M3, an inch, i know that Eibach has the springs, my question, Do I need to replace my shock absorbers for s new sports ones. I really want to keep the original shocks, and at the same time low my car 1". Any input will be appreciated. Thanks.
