My new dilemma: New AFM or MAF kit? Anyone? (archive)

I have not followed any MAF conversion discussions because I wasn't in the market but now I think my AFM is bad. Resistance does not move smoothly with vane movement...it's pretty erratic at points.

So, I'm debating whether to go for a new AFM for around $400 or step up to some kind of non-AFM conversion.

Any first-hand experiences?
