If you can, I suggest looking at this car, and take it to a mechanic who can really look over it well. A lot of M3's have been mistreated and beaten because they are so fun to drive, that they are driven to junk. (I know because when I was looking for cars, cheap M3's were usually very junked out).
I suggest trying to get a more expensive car up front as it will usually save you money in the long run. For example, I know someone who spent 9k on a car up front. Good price, right? Well, after finding everything wrong with it and replacing it, the maintence was over the price of the car. Lets say 19k. That is a pretty expensive car. He also has another M3 that he spent 15k on. He hasn't had to spend any more money on it since except for the regular maintence/oils.
I would suggest to you to keep looking around IMHO.
Good luck!
