ok so i've been seeing this being done lately. instead of using the 9006 55W bulb, we can use a 9005 65W bulb, plus this bulb doesn't have the tip covered with that black stuff. with a little modding with the dremel i did the adjustment and put them in. I think I expected much more. I wasn't extremly happy. I used Phillips Blue vision DOT aprroved blubs. I did this in my E32 but it works for all US ellipsoids. Considering the higher wattage and no blacked out tip I was waiting for a bigger difference. Maybe the blue vision bulb cuts down on the light?? Not to say that i won't do it again, because there is a slight difference. But I guess Im just too used to my Euro ellipsoids with 85W H1 low beams and 100W h1 high beams in my E30.

Anyway, its still better than the regular bulb for the same price and just a little more effort, why not.
