You must drain the cooling system first. If you have access to a cooling system pressure tester; you can use that to push out most of the coolant in the system.
You must remove the following items to make it easy on you and your back.
Driver's seat,
Panel trim under the steering wheel,
Gear shift consol trim
Center consol trim
Support bracket bar
Yes, you will need the dreaded TORX driver or socket driver to remove the core.
I would suggest replace the heater control valve while you are doing the job.
The firewall rubber gasket will probably get torn when you remove the pipes, so you might want to replace that as well.
