The weight issue is not a big deal. Anybody with a sixed e30 m3 will tell you that the handling is not effected worth complaining about. Any four cylinder owner will tell you to be scared of the weight gains. Oldest story in the book. Good luck. Chris


I have an extra engine (currently in parts) waiting to be built (3.8L stroker). Is it feasible to plant this engine in the e30 m3 body. I know alpina did it with a 3.5L engine. I would guess that the weight of front end would be increased by 50% (assuming the s14 is simply a shortened s38). Has anyone experimented with this idea?
