Hi! I recently acquired a 1984 323i E30 which (one of ) the previous owner had upgraded to a 325i. I’ve been fascinated with the hidden functions contained in the OBC, as I have discovered over the Internet. I found that for the OBC I have (which is the 13-button, orange display version), simultaneously pressing “1000” & “1” will reveal the remaining fuel level in the tank whereas “100” & “1” (instead of “1000” & “10”) will reveal the coding. My reads “3 1.3TYP”.

My 1st question : the “3 1.3TYP” coding do not match any listed in websites (ie. http://www.unofficialbmw.com/repair_faqs/obc.html)

So, what does my code mean?

2nd question : despite following the instructions from various postings on how to unlock the “hidden” functions, I can’t seem to get my OBC to display other hidden information other than the level of remaining fuel in the tank and the coding. Is there any other different steps of unlocking and programming the hidden functions? Could my OBC be different from others?

Any suggestion would be most appreciated.

Kelvin.
