are you thinking preventative maintenance? PUll valve cover off and see if any depositing is taking place first.
If you flush a dirty engine you can open up a whole bunch of leaks you didn't know you had! Oil consumption can go way up if there are deposits at the piston rings, valve seals, rear main seal etc. which will be removed and gaps become larger.
BTW transmission fluid is great to use if you add a quart and run engine for 1/2 hour @ 3,000 rpm and below.
