I don't have any cap at all! The Alternator is 9 months old!


You said that the car dies after idling a while with the lights on. I assume instrument cluster lights? On M3's, you need to press the gas pedal to put out those lights before the alternator charges the battery. Most people forget about this when they warm up their car.
