Don't put tire dressing on the hoses! Your hoses will dry rot A LOT quicker due to the heat circulating through them! Just cleaning them with soap/water will be fine. Just as those knuckle-head detailers think they're doing you a favor spraying all that shiny clear stuff all over everything under the hood. It will eventually flake & peel off due to the heat & also looks like crap & impossible to scrape/clean off !!

As far as the cosmoline- if it won't come off with mild cleaners- it won't come off unless it's wet sanded off. That stuff gets BAKED on & is like cement to remove.

Wanna have some real fun- put some of the tire dressing on the brake/clutch pedal :)
