225/45-17's on lowered M3? (archive)

I know this has been asked before, but the archives didn't seem to have a definitive answer.

Does anyone run 225/45-17's on 17x7.5" wheels with a lowered suspension?

I'm running the SCCA's new STX class, and the rules limit you to 7.5" wide wheels and 225 series street tires (min. 140 tread wear rating). I ran my old 225/50-15 AVSi's on the stock rims yesterday (and I won), but the hot tires for this class are the new Falken Azenis, and they don't come in 225/50-15.
