...that mineral spirits would take it off. It takes a lot of rubbing, but it will work. We put some badly yellowed intake trumpets in a parts cleaner with mineral spirits and they came out SPARKLING.

OK! It's been a very mild winter here in NYC and have tons of time to detail the car. I've steam-cleaned my carpets, washed/glazed/waxed the exterior and lexoled the leather.

I would like to now detail my engine bay. I've used 3M tire dressing on all my hoses, and used mild detergents on other components. Everything looks good except for a slight patina of baked on oil (or is it cosmoline?) on the passenger side strut tower and other small areas. Citrious cleaner didn't work and I don't want to start testing paint-stripping chemicals.

Any clues?

ALso where can i get those red caps that go on the tops of the shock? They do add a cleaner look to the strut towers.

Thanks
