Thinking about removing A/C....has anyone here (archive)

done this? I probably won't do it until the summer, if I do it at all. Thing is, I almost NEVER use my A/C. It just clutters up the engine bay. It'd be nice to make more room and free up some weight (any idea on what it weighs, anyone???) Maybe I'm weird....it does get hot as hell here in D.C. during the summers, but I hate air conditioning. If I can't have my windows open during the summer, I'd rather not drive. Anyway, if anyone's done this, I'd love to find out how to tackle it. Thanks.
