I am looking to buy a E30 M3, but want to make the best decision possible. As it is now, I've owned and maintained old Volvos for several years and can pick out bad ones from good ones easily. Thus if I decided to get another (heaven forbid), I'm confident I could find the right one.
I'm hoping to gain this same knowledge about E30s before buying one. I've been following this board for some time now but was also looking for a book or something else. I saw a book called "The Gold Portfolio" (or something like that) focusing on all the M cars through the years. Is this any good? What else should I read to learn more? If you were looking to buy another, what would you do differently this time?
went to for Volvo "The school of hard knocks"
I am pretty sure you did not know about Volvo by reading about them in a book. You have to get your feet wet. Lucky for you there is plenty of support on this Board and others. Unfortunately Mr.Bentley did not chose to dedicate a service book on the e30 m3 thinking that most is covered in his other fine manual. Actually the place to start would be a 325i and the Bentley manual then a e30 m3, Kola CD,SIG. But with your experience with Volvo this Car is a cake walk. Use your knowledge of cars to buy one the rest will be history. This year is the year of the Horse so it a good year to buy many. Hope this help. Good luck.
