...lift or jackstands. Try to squeeze the joint together with some large channelock pliers. If there is 1/16" or more of play, then the arm needs to be replaced.

The bushings on my control arms are shot. How do I know if the ball joints are worn? If I replace the control arms w/bushings and ball joints how different will the car feel?
