You need to be concerned w/ where the venting on the strut takes place.

Bilstein HD and Sports vent on the bottom which if oil is in the way will affect the operation.

However there are Koni products that you can use oil in a gas charged strut situation.

As best I know, Bilsteins are the only ones that caution you not to use oil in the housing.

Bentley is hardly the bible when it comes to auto repair info.
