Most of the bits that have been mentioned will all make a difference. A pair of Schrick cams and a custom chip (the really important bit) will make a massive difference. Every owner I know who has done this has got a least 20bhp every time. It transforms the car into a real screamer, not cheap but once you have done all the other bits you are probably going to want to do the cams anyway. So cut your losses and do it first.

i have 6 different e32 7 series but i do the maintenance on a friend of mines 88 M3. he wants to upgrade with some performance options. i'm just checking on what works best with the M3. i have tried different chips in my 7 series with mixed results. which chips(and sources) do you guys prefer? and other upgrades? exhaust, intake, k&n or not, plugs, aluminum flywheel? i know that i love test driving it for him(better than the 735 but not quite as fun as the 750), but it is still all stock. any suggestions are greatly welcomed.
