M parts are about three times as expensive as
other car parts.

For example, I replaced the rod bearings on
a high performance Toyota engine for $37 for
a set of six (6 cylinder engine).

For my M3, I paid about $120 for a set of four (4 cylinder engine) rod bearings.

Figure I should pay less overall for a set of
four (compared to a set of six), but I ended
up paying alot more per bearing for the M3 set.

Anyways, if you are mechanically inclined, you'll
save alot.

If anyone wants work done on their M3 in the
bay area, I can do it :). I keep a status page
on work done - example, on one customers car:

I have always heard that the e30 m3 is really expensive to maintain is this really true?
