The E36 rotors need to be spaced away from the wheel bearing. You will need a custom bracket to mount the caliper, too. It can be done (and has been), but it isn't easy. If you don't have your own machine shop, you would spend more getting the parts made than if you bought a kit.

Andrew Taylor has a kit that fits most 16" wheels. E36 M3 brakes will require 17" wheels. Contact him at astaylor@taylorautosport.com for prices and details.
