I have not heard about the 7er timing chain tensoner. But, I kinda look at it like this. The orginal TCT was ok, but was noisy at start up due to the smaller diamater spring, the e36 one fixed that and I have had no problems since that point with my TCT. The only concerns I have is the increased stress the timing chain has as a result of the extra tension, and im afraid it will cause increased wear over time and even streching of the timing chain due to the more powerfull spring in the e36 setup. When do you say enough is enough? I would bet that the e36 tensioner is a nice medium, and it is proven to work on the 3 cars I know of that have one and there are plenty of testimonals on this board. but I am still unsure which is better.... anyone have a clear pic of the 7er tensoner? That would be awsome if you can find one so we can see whats so different.
