ded hot lapping you do at a DE. Road racing R-compound tires have more grip and are less durable but are still durable enough to go the whole way. Autocross spec R-compound tires are designed to heat up after a few turns - they wouldn't last multiple laps on a road course.

I'm sure others here can add more. I run street tires all around.
