The shims cost about £4+ each. So if you need £16 you need £64. If you paying full price for new ones get your old ones back - and sell them on here!! Just be thankful you dont have to go to BMW £70 an hour - That is silly.
Ive seen an inspection I and II sheet (BMW) scanned somewhere on the net - anyone know where?
out of Munich Legends?
Every time I contact them for a price for parts or work it's always 'it's about' or 'all depends'.
Recently I visited and asked how much an Inspection 2 would be, Barneys response was "all depends how many shims I have to use for the valves".
This is not the first time Munichs have been unsure of prices, once they increased the price of the plug leads I was going to buy by £50 just before I went to collect them!(I went to Moseleys instead).
Any other specialist garage just give you a price, I don't want to take my car to a garage with a rough idea what I'm going to pay when it is only one task I am asking them to perform.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not having a go at the quality of their work, just the vague info they give.
Sorry for the outburst, and I know that lots of you use Munichs with no problem but I just needed to get that off my chest.
PaulD, how much do you pay Munichs for an inspection 2?
