Have you looked into buying from Germany. There was a guy dealing some time ago Franc Jacob (I may have the number somewhere)
also try mobile.de - switch to english and search germany. Hope this helps.



If this is Jim Baxter, I'd love to talk to you about the process and how you found the car or other sources to look into. I'm basically using www.autotrader.co.uk, BMW Car Magazine, www.Independent Motors.co.uk and Munich Legends ads.

I have had contact with Phil C. about this and was very close on that red car last year. But could not justify the rising price. Would have put the total cost of the car into the US at about $35K.

I know to expect about $7-10K in federalizing and import cost. I've got Phil C's website page on importing bookmarked. I've desired this car since '89 when I first saw it. Soooooo, it's been a long and tedious process finding one. I am not a patient person, but in this car, I guess I need to be. It's like finding a needle in a haystack.
