How much track time do you presently have under your belt?I don't mean Auto X but full on track time?
If you only have a couple of track days under your belt then I would strongly encourage you to buy a high quality sreet tire for another 4-5 DE schools.
If you jump to and R compound tire to quickly before you have really gotten the hang of car control you may find the R tire kind of unforgiving in it's ability to lose traction w/ less warning.
If you do feel comfortable with your abilities at the track then start w/ the Yokohama AO32R or hte Toyo Proxes RA-1 which will be great starting tires and should last quite some time too.
Finally, my last thought is please do not think that car control at the Auto x is the same thing on the race track. At Limerock for instance, you will be cornering at up to 90 mph under full load in the down hill which is not the place to find out you did not have the ability you thought you did.
But regardless, get out there and do it!
