never ever use and impact gun to tighten flywheel bolts , the uneven torque applied will cause the rear seal surface to distort causing the rear main seal to leak.there is a reason the factory gives torque spec's this is one good example!


having had a bad experience using the "factory" torque on a flywheel(in a VW GTI racecar). I prefer / recommend a 1/2" impactgun with the right "feel". Bell housing bolts are Torx-style, smack 'em with a hammer (w/ socket in place) before removing to avoid rounding off. Hope this helps.
