You don't need to remove the subframe to get
the upper pan off.
- remove belly or clam cover (at lower tranny
and under upper edge of oil pan).
- take off lower pan
- unbolt ground cable and vent tube
- remove oil pump
- remove upper oil pan
Thanks for the advice so far guys, I really am enjoying the car. A problem I have run into is that the oil pan that bolts to the engine is leaking. Not the easy to remove lower pan, but the one attached to the engine that the other pan attaches to. Can I remove this short of pulling the engine or lowering the subframe while supporting the engine? It looks like bad news to me, I do have a pit with a wench above, I could take off the lower subframe while supporting the engine, any serious mechs out there have any ideas? Thanks again
Jake
