The part number fits 5/6/7 series from the same time period. These cars don't rev to 7800 RPMs. Since I've had this fan clutch installed I've taken it to about 7200 RPMs a few times and haven't had any problems (too chicken to kick in the rev limiter). I don't know how it will hold up in the long run if it is taken to 7800 RPMs for track sessions. Several times I have driven at 90+ for over four hours and did not have any problems from the fan clutch, so for a street car there will definately not be any problems. It might do fine at the track, who knows. Like I said ever single detail is exactly the same, only the part number is different.
I have been using 11 52 1 466 000 for the last year and a half, it's only $65. Side by side there is no difference except for the part number. For a street car it's fine.
replacement part we can use. The original M3 part is so expensive. Thanks in advance.
Thanks but why did you mention 'for a street car its fine'? I started to take my car to the track and plan to use it on track at least once every two months. It actually started to act up after I took it to the track. If I get this part will it not last long or does track day destroy the clutch fan quickly?
