Hi,

I get ticking/clanking noises when accelerating lightly
in 1st and 2nd gear between 3500-4000 rpm. It is hard
to hear noises in higher gears/higher speeds.

(sounds similar to when con-rod bearings start to go, but
these are ok.)

had the car on the lift, wheels running same rpm, and
no noise. noise also goes away when transmission
disengaged. so it happens only driving under load.

the noise is heard when driving straight, but sounds
(to me atleast) somewhat louder on right hand corners.

I checked the play in the drive axles, and the right
axle seems to have a minimal more play than the left
one (which is new). could this be the culprit?

John
