BTW, the ETK says 45mm for the stock clamps. I found some 50mm clamps for $11 each by browsing the VW section at thepartsbin.com. Those might be the ones. They were on a '96 4-cyl. Jetta.

They say "dual band type" which sort of describes the clamps that came with my Stromung muffler that has an overlapping fit like the Supersprint.

...that work well for overlapping fittings like the one you are describing. Am I understanding correctly that the clamps are built into the Supersprint muffler?

You might try measuring the outside diameter of your Supersprint pipes and going to the VW parts counter to see what they can come up with.

I have a SuperSprint Muffler and it leaks where the allen bolt clamps connect to the Cat. Well, actually it doesn't now because I spent a good part of Saturday rigging up a temporary fix, a fix that includes some high-temp RVT silicone among other things. It doesn't leak but this can't last, has anyone got a more permanent solution. I thought about grinding off the inaffective allen bolt "clamps" and getting some real heavy duty clamps like Gustave sells but someone pointed out to me that the pipe diameters have to be the same - and these aren't. I do not want to have them permanently welded if I don't have to. Anyone?? Thanks.
