No, I don't think the VW clamps are dual-diameter...just dual band. The clamps that came with my Stromung muffler each use one bolt but are separated into 2 bands. I'm not sure what advantage this might have but dual-band is a good description of it. I'm thinking the VW clamps are probably the same way.

But, like I said, you'd probably want to go to the parts counter of a big VW dealer and see what they have just so you can be sure what you are getting.

They are not clamps in the since that they don't completely wrap around the pipes. They really just consist of a 1" slit at the end of each pipe and two small, welded on bits that an allen head bolt fit through. I think it's a bad design (for the money). So, you think the VW clamps are a sleeve with dual diameters, 45mm one end and ??mm the other end. That's what's needed for a correct fit and I guess a muffler shop could weld some up but it would be nice to get 'em from VW. Let me know if you find any more out about them, I'll do the same.
