In Reply to: Solution for leaking SS exhaust at clamp area??? posted by Doug on April 16, 2002 at 15:14:28:

I have a SuperSprint Muffler and it leaks where the allen bolt clamps connect to the Cat. Well, actually it doesn't now because I spent a good part of Saturday rigging up a temporary fix, a fix that includes some high-temp RVT silicone among other things. It doesn't leak but this can't last, has anyone got a more permanent solution. I thought about grinding off the inaffective allen bolt "clamps" and getting some real heavy duty clamps like Gustave sells but someone pointed out to me that the pipe diameters have to be the same - and these aren't. I do not want to have them permanently welded if I don't have to. Anyone?? Thanks.

stainless steel clamp system. $49.00 each.
